Erasmus EYE: two months at Mònade to move Novoid forward
In April, I wrote about my first conversation with Piero at Mònade. A few months later, that meeting led to two months in Italy through Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs — EYE. I am due to return next Thursday, 29 October 2026. It is a good moment to share an update.
I have been hosted by Mònade, an Italian company specialising in bespoke software development, artificial intelligence and cloud infrastructure, with Piero, CEO, as my host entrepreneur.
EYE gives entrepreneurs the opportunity to develop their projects alongside an experienced entrepreneur in another European country. For Novoid, the purpose of this exchange was practical: to work both on the technology and on building a business around it.
Over these two months, I have continued Novoid’s technical development for automation at a larger scale, particularly in B2B. The work on AI and automation opens up possibilities beyond hosting game servers alone.
Thanks to Mònade and Piero, we have also gained a better understanding of the challenges a service company faces in its use of the cloud. Seeing those uses in a business setting helped us step back from our own choices and better anticipate the development of Novoid’s services.
The exchange went beyond technical topics. Piero’s thoughtful advice brought several business management and marketing issues into focus. It helped me identify the questions we need to address to move Novoid forward beyond development itself. Alongside this, I carried out market research to clarify the project’s positioning and development opportunities.
There has been a more personal learning experience too: I have improved my English over these two months. I still have work to do to feel truly comfortable in an international setting, so I am going to take English classes to keep making progress after returning home.
The next stage will be in France. We will refocus our work on game hosting, for business customers (B2B) and players (B2C), building on what we have learned during this stay in Italy. The lessons in cloud usage, management and marketing will help guide that next stage.
There is movement around video games, AI and reverse engineering, too. A few possibilities are taking shape for what comes next… but it is still a little early to say more. We have work to do.
I return on Thursday 29 October, with this work to continue and turn into concrete outcomes. Thank you to Piero and the whole Mònade team for welcoming me over these two months, and to Erasmus EYE for making the exchange possible.
