Triangulation: Business Plan and Documentation
Surviving Excel
Friday. I survived the end of Business Plan V1 and FISY v5.
Not “finished” in the noble sense. Rather reached the point where continuing to modify Excel cells brings nothing more.
The real difficulty was not writing. It was acting like defekator would say: cross-checking info!
Every source tells its own fable. Market studies sell dreams. Benchmarks hide constraints. Financial models love to lie politely.
Triangulation
So I did something thankless: triangulation.
When info doesn't survive three independent sources and technical reality, it disappears. Even if it was pretty.
Result: specifications less sexy, but that don't collapse at the first “yes but in prod…”.
Wiki.js: Long Memory
Another critical point: keeping a clean trace.
Not to “inspire”, but to avoid redoing the same debates ten times. So I installed Wiki.js, open source, self-hosted. Just what it should be: a structured documentary memory, with dated decisions, explicit sources, and an organization that holds up over time.
Status
- BP imperfect but coherent
- FISY less flattering but defensible
- Documentation that serves a purpose
Nothing glamorous. Just the necessary foundation to not build on sand.
