Python 3.15 beta 4: checking project dependencies

Novoid

A preparation milestone

On 18 July 2026, Python 3.15.0b4 became available. It was the final planned beta for Python 3.15, which was still under development at that date.

Examine what the project uses

Our priority would be installing the project in a separate test environment and checking its actual dependencies. A short script starting successfully does not necessarily represent a complete service. Calculation libraries, data drivers and modules containing native code each need appropriate observation.

Keep resolved versions and distinguish an installation failure from a runtime error. This difference directs investigation toward package availability, extension compilation or application behavior. A complete message is more valuable than a simple “incompatible” label.

Prepare a migration decision

We would supplement automated tests with an ordinary business journey: importing a file, processing data and producing a verifiable result. The aim is to identify dependencies to monitor and necessary adaptations. A beta informs preparation; it does not constitute runtime acceptance for an operating service.
